There currently exists a four-person working group who's charge is to lay the groundwork for formally establishing the High Plains Harriers as a non-for-profit running club in Laramie.

The decision was made to best achieve this goal through joinging the Road Runners Club of America, of which the High Plains Harriers will be a local chapter. To this end, the working group has met and established the processes necessary to meet this goal by end of summer 2008. Concurrently, the working group will be laying the groundwork for scheduling/working with race directors for summer/fall HPH events, scheduling fall elections, launching a winter membership drive, and establishing the 2009 race/event calendar.

The next order of business is to formally pass the High Plains Harriers ByLaws that are to be submitted with the club's application to RRCA. In early June, the panel passed the ByLaws, and those ByLaws are now available for comment (see below). In late June a meeting will be held to put these By Laws in place and proceed with our application.

HPH Bylaws

An Organizational meeting was held on May 1 with the intent to lay the groundwork for the High Plains Harriers running club in Laramie. Fourteen members of the running community were in attendance.

Coming out of the meeting were clear action items on how the group should move forward in the coming year to meet the mission of providing an inclusive running club in laramie that supports and encourages runners of all levels and abilities through the support of local races, fun runs and social events.
