Race Information
What:
The 10th Annual Jackalope Loop is a fundraising event for to sponsor a local high school runner from Laramie High School. The race is open to all ages. Runners, walkers and wheel chair participants are invited.
Runners recieve T-shirt and post race goodies. There will also be door prizes for participants.
Proceeds
Proceeds from Jackalope Loop 2011 will be used to provide partial sponsorship to Erik Boss; a highschool senior at Laramie High School who will be representing the US Western Region at the Internation Sports Specialists track meet in Australia in summer, 2011.
International Sports Specialists, Inc. (ISSI) has invited Erik to compete on the Wyoming Track and Field Team as part of the Western Conference traveling to Australia this summer. Erik will participate in this international tournament-referred to as the 'Mini Olympics of High School Sports'-and is directing the 2011 Jackalope in part to help raise funds to cover the cost of traveling to and competing in Australia. A major source of funds for this endeavor are voluntary contributions of family, friends, and business sponsors. By directing the Jackalope, Erik is becoming more involved in the the running community in Laramie, teaming up with the High Plains Harriers, while raising the funds that will help support him for this competition (airfare, hotel, meals, uniform, tournament fees, transportation, insurance, etc.).
A Note from Erik:
On a personal note, this will be my first experience traveling out of the country and on my own. I look forward to making friends with people from all over the United States and learning about our host country, Australia. I am especially excited to meet my Wyoming teammates and to test my abilities in competition with runners from all over the world. This will be good experience as I begin my career as a college runner.

When:
The race will be held on SUNDAY, March 27, 2011, starting at 12:00 pm. Race Day Registration opens at 11:00 am.
Where:
The race starts at the Optimist Park in West Laramie (Maps). The course meanders on the beautiful greenbelt trail south of Optimist Park. The course is relatively flat with 1/4 mile markers.
Registration:
- Early Registration (received by March 23rd) is $20.
- Race day and late (after March 23rd) registration is $25.
- Additional $5 discount for High Plains Harriers members *OR* students (only one discount per entry)
Prizes:
Prizes abound for racers due to the continued generosity of local merchants and supporters throughout Albany County. There will be overall awards, age group awards AND.... door prizes!!!!!
