Race Information
What:
The 11th Annual Jackalope Loop is a fun run event Organized the Laramie High School Peace Jam and Amnesty Club, working with High Plains Harriers to raise awareness and funds for the Albany County SAFE Project.
Runners recieve T-shirt and post race goodies. There will also be door prizes for participants.
Proceeds
Proceeds from Jackalope 5K Loop 2012 will be used to raise awareness and funds for the Albany County SAFE Project "working to end violence".
Albany County SAFE Project was founded in Laramie in 1980. The mission of SAFE is “to advocate for victims of domestic abuse, sexual assault, rape, and incest, and to create change through education and awareness to eliminate violence”. They also serve victims of child abuse, elder abuse, and stalking.
The confidential services include: a 24-hour hotline, crisis intervention, safety planning, emergency cell phones, medical advocacy, community resource referrals, emergency food and transportation, court escort, assistance with stalking and domestic violence protection orders, emergency shelter, mental health referrals, community education and prevention programs and events.

When:
The race will be held on Saturday, April 28, starting at 9:00 AM. Race Day Registration opens at 8:00 am.
Where:
The race starts at the Optimist Park in West Laramie (Maps). The course meanders on the beautiful greenbelt trail south of Optimist Park. The course is relatively flat with 1/4 mile markers.
Registration:
- Early Registration (received by April 25th) is $20.
- Race day and late (after April 25th) registration is $25.
- Additional $5 discount for High Plains Harriers members )
Prizes:
Prizes abound for racers due to the continued generosity of local merchants and supporters throughout Albany County. There will be overall awards, age group awards for first place AND.... door prizes!!!!!
